bout Barbados
Barbados is a low lying coral island of about 430 square kilometers, situated just east of the Caribbean Sea in the Southern Caribbean region and is an independent island nation (gained in 1966 from the British). Considered part of the Lesser Antilles, its closest neighbors are Saint Vincent and Saint Lucia. The island has a tropical climate with constant trade winds off the Atlantic Ocean which keep temperatures mild. It also has one of the highest standards of living and literacy rates worldwide. Once known as Little Britain, it is still a very popular holiday destination for Brits and Europeans who dominate visitor arrivals.
The island is quite developed with a diverse range of activities, dining, and accommodation facilities and has seen a huge surge in the development of up-scale properties in the last three years placing the island as one of the top vacation home destinations and property investment locations.
